ABOUT MYSELF AND MY KENNEL (LABONNE/BERTRAM KENNELS)
I started my adventure to purchase a Bolognese in August of 1999. I had wanted to start up a new breed in Canada and found these wonderful little dogs so I started on my exhaustive search.
I received my first two females from Germany, another female from Norway and my males from the United States, Italy and another from Finland.
This breed is a rare breed, I tried to get as many different pedigrees as I could so I would not have many that were the same. This breed was just about extinct after the first world war but because of a breeder in Italy keeping the breed going this breed is still available for us to enjoy today.
CHARACTERISTICS OF THE BOLOGNESE
Bolognese are very, very inquisitive as well as smart. These little dogs do get really close to their masters. Bolognese usually problem solve and they are funny to watch as they try and figure out how to do something. They have a very enduring personality and also do not bark very much, which is a plus!
They are usually 8 - 12 pounds and come in white only, they sometimes have a very light champaign color. They are odourless and non-shedding. They are very sturdy, have lots of patience with children and make a loving companion for adults.
